The Ripple
Waiting for Qinzhi and caught sight of this beautiful moment. The ripple effect. I think about the everything we do….say…feel …think 🤔 it seems even a passing thought can set this off into our lives. Seemingly into nothingness. But I think it will come out somewhere sometime.

亲爱的怀皓，好爱你！你也是这样————在爱我吧。有一天晚上，我们在床上聊天，一直聊一直聊，是无话不说的。但是越来越迟了，怕你明天上学没精神，要你睡了，明天再聊。你说好，睡了。结果没一会儿，我们又再聊天了。聊啊聊，然后你慢慢睡下。
Mommy觉得这就是最幸福的事情。想起来，脸会微笑，心会微笑，心里面温温暖暖，柔柔软软。
你一定也是这样。
除夕，你没上学，来到我的办公室。接着庚延舅舅没上班，接你和姐姐一块去买火锅的海鲜，去酒店买鱼生，然后回到公公家，准备吃年夜饭。小时候不知道，年夜饭多么珍贵。大了，尤其这一年，更是能够领略年夜饭————能够坐上这桌子，就真的真的应该庆祝。狂喜，感恩。
吃前，阿姨先让你们动手剥开蛋壳。
然后捞鱼生！皓皓很喜欢看karyn姐姐为米其林指南做的捞鱼生视频，看着看着也学上手，学会念各种过年的祝语。
大年初一的早上，换上新的衣裳。mommy和你、姐姐分享了过年要一身新衣新鞋的意义————去旧迎新。
然后给爸爸妈妈拜年。给公公阿姨拜年，给舅舅舅妈拜年。
收获甚丰！今年让皓皓第一次数红包钱。他这么算啊算，居然还蛮准，距离正确数字只差两块钱！
皓皓喜欢手工，下午回来会自己玩，总是这样和玩具、自己。自说自话，忙一整个下午。一次问皓皓，这样是在跟谁说话呢？他说，是玩具在说话。意即如果玩具有声音，就会这样说话。让人感受到小孩子想象力的无边无际。
皓皓说，要把小猪扑满里的钱拿出来，要买芭比娃娃给沁芝当生日礼物。有一回，mommy说漏，皓皓有点生气，要我安静，给姐姐惊喜。这一天早上，皓皓早起，给沁芝做了卡片。
皓皓也准备了礼物。皓皓一早就说，要用自己的储蓄给姐姐买礼物。还制作了卡片，然后细心把礼物排在房间的一角，让姐姐早上起来“发现”。孩子的心，好让人感动。
让我想起有一回，带皓皓和阿姨出外午餐，结果吃到好吃的，皓皓说：“i wish jiejie was here”
问他为什么？皓皓说：“then jiejie can eat this. you know i love jiejie right?”
姐姐生日，适逢正月十五。我们去四川豆花饭庄捞鱼生。然后给姐姐唱生日歌，切蛋糕。
这一个月来，跟皓皓解释要对姐姐有礼貌、要敬爱姐姐。皓皓似乎听得懂，也很有分寸。小瓜人还小，但心不小。
mommy说：“i love you to bits”。皓皓也学着。晚上睡前会给我盖被，会抱抱亲亲mommy。爱你宝贝。

10岁应该是新的开始吧。
全新的篇章，翻开新的一页那样。
亲爱的，新的开始，开始————多么好。有这个机会，多么好！请你一定要好好把握，好好珍惜。

所以mommy最近把激励人鼓动人的字句写下来，想到自己以前也是靠着文字的力量转化自己，可能你也会从中获得灵感。从中汲取力量。让你稳固起来。
所以mommy特地给你做了一张卡片，里面有彩虹🌈，但愿前面的每一天，都有一道彩虹。A rainbow in your wait!

2月份，有许多是关于新年的。比如新年穿旗袍这件事。除夕这天，舅舅没有上班，带着沁芝皓皓去run errands，吃麦当劳。
接着接着公公家，准备吃年夜饭。不过先得动手帮忙！小时候不知道，年夜饭多么珍贵。大了，尤其这一年，更是能够领略年夜饭————能够坐上这桌子，就真的真的应该庆祝。狂喜，感恩。
捞鱼生是小瓜最喜欢的。今年沁芝皓皓看着米其林指南的捞鱼生视频，也学习了捞鱼生的时候该说的祝语。所以今年的鱼生是沁芝帮忙准备的。
沁芝画的，后来给了阿姨，让阿姨挂在墙壁上。这是阿姨去纽约的时候买的睡衣，沁芝穿起来，好高挑！大年初一的早上，换上新的衣裳。mommy和你、姐姐分享了过年要一身新衣新鞋的意义————去旧迎新。
让沁芝皓皓拜年，今年小瓜似模似样，羞涩地说了吉祥话，然后把柑握在手上。怎么都好，沁芝能这样，真的好感激了。阿姨给的红包是爱马仕的小猪，太可爱了！
过了一周，是结算红包钱的时候！
因为看youtube视频，一直想做slime，daddy终于买了所需材料。两人玩的不亦乐乎！
8日这一天，带沁芝去见John，他有这样的说法，沁芝一直在内化大人的世界，想东西想到尽，所以脑中许多活动。他说如果能够按照他的说法，去执行，给自己一个月的时间，然后调整和减少用药。不然长期下去，对沁芝真的不好。
John说，沁芝是Super sensitive child, a lot of things she is internalising

他说，要给沁芝peace，我们做父母的首先要有peace
跟着他的提议做，沁芝早上的状况好转许多，给我带来莫大的鼓励。看到沁芝回复神采，眼里的光回来。知道这得来不易。这个月来的努力，是跟沁芝沟通，多多照顾沁芝的情绪，尝试从沁芝的角度想，看世界。看到沁芝逐渐变得开怀开朗，说的话多了，开始知道当父母的责任、乐趣、困难。
学会对自己宽容，也学会体谅父母。
沁芝生日的前一天，mommy觉得心情的起伏特别的大。说不出为什么。但是情感上特别脆弱。想到沁芝，还有这一些日子以来的点滴。就像跟沁芝说，感谢有这个机会，翻开新的一页，我要感谢拥有这个机会，庆祝沁芝。
庆祝的不只是生日，庆祝沁芝这个灵魂，这个个体，庆祝怀沁芝，庆祝生沁芝，庆祝养沁芝，庆祝以前的不懂事不懂得，庆祝现在懂得多一点。
除了感谢还是感谢。
What I wanted to do was un-sellable
Had a chat with this incredible man in 2011 when i was at ZbBz, that was when MB&F collaborated with Boucheron. My story here:
Maximilian Büsser showed me the HM4(Horological Machine No 4), it appeared so eager to take off, I was convinced enough to promise him I would say to readers this, that Maximilian Büsser “has not crossed over to the dark side”.
He laughed.
“In the last 5 years, we have developed a hard core following of fans,and you must be aware of the great divide between horology and jewellery? In this project(with Boucheron), there must have been some who suspect I have gone over to the dark side doing jewellery, but still, my guts told me I should.”
He was referring to the collaboration between his cutting edge swiss creative laboratory MB&F and the 152-year-old House of Boucheron, the most venerable of France’s high-jewellery houses, as well as the JwlryMachine that came into being, an astonishing haute-joaillerie version of MB&F’s Horological Machine No 3 (HM3).
In a spectacular flight of fancy, the House’s peerless artisans have conceived the watch as a splendid three-dimensional jewelled owl, presented either in 18k white gold, with amethyst, diamonds and blue and violet sapphires, or in 18k red gold, with pink tourmaline, rose quartz, diamonds and pink sapphires.
The owl’s eyes are large glowing cabochons, set over the twin cones, and its sparkling wings, wrapped protectively around the precious HM3 engine, are entirely pavé-set with brilliant-cut stones. Its feathered breast is sculpted and engraved from a single block of amethyst or rose quartz. The glowing eyes, sparkling wings and softly gleaming breast create a carefully choreographed play of light.
But the two creators, Boucheron and MB&F seem such an unlikely team. The House of Boucheron, in its historic setting at 26 Place Vendôme, Paris, is a legend in the rarefied world of French high jewellery. A family dynasty, founded by Frédéric Boucheron in 1858, it has never ceased to enchant its discerning clientele, including royalty, aristocrats, billionaires etc.
In direct opposition to his time-honoured creative partner, Büsser founded his creative laboratory just five years ago. And where the House of Boucheron’s jewels are clearly objects of desire, the initial reaction to MB&F’s Machines may well be one of shock and awe. So wherein lies the common ground?
“People. People who share the same values,such as enthusiasm, of curiosity, risk taking…. coming to work together,its not a financial or commercial decision, its not about cooperations with returns. It’s about a project created by 2 human beings. I have known Jean-Christophe Bedos, the CEO of Boucheron for a long time and I really admired the brand, its got a strong character or personality, they are not about the marketer who is eager to please. Its incredile the skills their artisans have and probably, there might be more people who do not like Boucheron than like that, but for those who like it, they love it.
MB&F is even more extreme than Boucheron.
I never create thinking about the client. I don’t give a damn, its all about fulfilling my creative dream, giving meaning to my life, MB&F is a super selfish dream.”
Sometime back, Mr Bedos showed Busser a collection of jewellery, of flowers and plants of diamonds opening up. Busser was completely, as he put it, blown away.
“I remember saying to him, that I do 3 dimensional time machines, and you, you do 3 dimensional jewellery machines, it was lunch a year and a half ago that we decided to come together to do a 3 dimensional time jewellery machine.”
Its not about a need, he says, its “why don’t we do it?”
“Its the pleasure of creating together. We are independent brands that do not need the other, but when both worlds cooperate, there is collective energy, we create things that otherwise we wouldn’t have had we not cooperated. I share one of my pieces with someone I admire, then we put our names on the dial, such as with the HM 2.2 watch. I was a fan of Alain Silberstein and I met him one day and told him so, then came the HM 2.2, its Alain Silberstein but him in a way, the world has never seen before.”
He calls pieces that come out of these instances of admiration and sharing, performance art pieces.
“What is amazing and fantastic about this project is, it is the most free flowing one i have had, there is not a moment that we disagreed.
In January last year, he met up with the creative team at Boucheron to show them what MB&F is about. 2 months later, Boucheron came back with a staggering 60 designs, one of them the owl, which Busser homed in on.
“The owl called out to me, I emailed them back and they said, they thought the same, its synchronicity. On the HM3, the jewellers brought on their work. Many at times, you see diamonds being ploughed on the watch, that’s diamond setting. But this is a whole 3 dimensional work of the best artisans who know and have worked with diamonds.”
According to Busser, MB&F makes 12 machines only a month and he has decided that his lab could only produce 12-15 pieces of the JwlryMachine in the total of a year.
Not for the faint hearted, the JwlryMachine is an imposing piece, made all the more so by its sheer beauty. Most mesmerising of all: beneath the owl’s breast, its heart appears to be beating. The visual illusion is created by the faintly perceived swings of MB&F’s solid-gold battle-axe-shaped rotor beneath the translucent stone.
But he shrugged off the suggestion that he started out wanting to impress.
“I never create to impress. I create to feel the adrenaline rush in myself. The market I am in is like a big highway and everybody is charging in the same direction, some on a bicycle, some in cars, some in lorries. But me, I park my car at a side of the highway, get out of my car and go into the jungle with a machete, carving out a path for myself in the jungle. MB&F is our path and I must be careful not to stumble with that adrenaline.”
He lets on further in a rare revelation, “honestly, I have no idea where the company is heading, I bring it where my gut is bringing me, I am not sure where.”
To make his point, he shared a little history about himself.
“I came from a simple family with no money, and absolutely no dream of being a managing director of a company. My father used his money to get me a good education. At 31, I was Harry Winston’s managing director, not many people knew but Harry Winston was close to bankruptcy, we saved the company and built it and in the midst, I had it all, recognition, power….but i was enjoying myself less and less, as the company grew bigger and bigger.
My father passed away 8 years ago, and that was a wake up call.They say, the 2 times you face mortality in life, was when a parent left you, the other, was when your child is born.When my father left me, it dawned on me that I could be the next in line. And the end could be 50 years or tomorrow. Am I going to have regrets if I were to die tomorrow?”
He loved creating, but back at Harry Winston, everything that was created wasn’t from him nor was it for him.
“I was in total neglect of my self, it was a total abdication of the self, I did not do it for me. If you saw “Saving Private Ryan”, at the end of the film, Tom Hanks tells Matt Damon, “Make it worthwhile.” I was 34.I was a symbol of success, I was lucky. And I thought to myself, why don’t I use that as a leverage to do really what I want?”
And MB&F came into being, in his emphasis, a small company of friends, whose focal point is and always will be on creativity. “Here, I superselfishly create what I want, it didnt matter if others could not understand, because I want to live, I want to feel blood rushing in my veins, its about getting out of your comfort zone.”
He showed me machine no.4.
“A year ago I held the prototype in my hand, and I asked myself, who’s going to buy this? but I didnt care. I m so proud of myself, this is my baby, this is me. I built model airplanes as a kid, I was assembling another person’s plane 35 years ago n now I created mine. Everyone wants to sell in this market, but I did it all for myself. Its a self asserting act. I do not care about the others. I have been rational, but in my last ten years, I used my guts and followed them more than my mind, the head keeps you in the comfort zone but its the guts that is who you are, telling you what you want and where do u go. MB&F is alot about that. “
Is there no fear to caution him at all?
“That’s what adrenaline is all about, adrenaline is fear too. When you conquer fear, there is pride. And adrenaline and pride,they are my biggest drug, I m high on that.”
Just as quitting (Harry Winston) has been, starting MB&F has been a most important decision he has made in time.
“On paper,and with numbers, we are now, where I thought we would be 5 years ago. But the way to now, is totally what I have not imagined. You can be sure there are many sleepless nights, days of doubt and terror, there is no protection net and absolutely no one to catch you. I would say, looking back, that its tough but not really. There are problems, but I am so grateful to be doing what I am doing, that I can be sure I am able to overcome a problem. 20years ago, if someone punched me, I would be knocked down. But now, if someone did the same, I would bounce back from the floor, I have this innate knowledge that what is within me and in me, would allow me to beat a problem, be it a health problem or otherwise. I would be battling, not one moment would I stop, because…I m so lucky. It’s that realisation that I m blessed that is giving me this energy. For I have discovered who I am, once you know who you are, what you love and what you don’t, what you are good at and what not, you will survive, you will get over it, and you can be happy.”

Having been “playing” with time, he has this to say of what this “play” has taught him,, and that is, to make it worthwhile.
“It is a crime not to make the most of your time, and we are all going to die too early.”

新年快乐
凌晨看烟花汇演，知道原来自己走过许多路。
以前会和daddy在那里看烟花。后来在家里。在家里的时候，daddy还会跟我一起看。到后来，他会跟我一起看，但不会看完。这次，我自己看。
看烟花的时候，默默念诵，祈求健康平安喜乐。
然后想起一个朋友对我说过的一番话。他说，生命中一切的相遇都是礼物🎁。都是恩赐。
那天见老友淑燕，跟她说我心中的恐惧。她说，养儿育女本来就是充满未知。何不把一切看作是新的体验？
不悲不喜。
我在想，看作是礼物是什么感觉？拆开礼物、如何用它？
就是感恩的心。
包红包，依然是开心的事情。看烟花也是。吃团圆饭也是。无论如何，大家有这个机会在一块吃团圆饭。这是多么多么珍贵多么了不起多么值得庆祝的事。

Which is why I m particular about words.
